Power
Aviation Services Limited ("Power Aviation") offers specialised
aircraft trading and brokering services to airlines and to financial
institutions worldwide.
The company primarily specialises in remarketing (selling and leasing)
and sourcing aircraft for airlines and financial institutions but
also provides aviation consulting services to regional airlines
globally.
Gerry Power
The principal executive director, Mr. Gerry Power, spent eight years
from 1985 to 1993 working with GPA Group plc. ("GPA"),
then the largest lessor and financier of new-technology aircraft
in the world. He worked in a variety of senior management positions
at GPA including Personal Assistant to Dr. T. A. Ryan, GPA’s
Chairman & CEO, Vice President Aircraft Acquisitions, and Vice
President Marketing. During this period he was based at different
times in the U.S., England, Belgium and at the company’s headquarters
in Ireland.
Gerry was involved in more than 50 jet and turboprop aircraft transactions
during his career with GPA. As Vice President Marketing for GPA
Jetprop Limited, he placed (either sold or leased) over 30 turboprop
aircraft between 1989 and 1992.
Post GPA, Gerry has concluded more than 50 aircraft transactions
including:

Purchased five MD82 aircraft on behalf of Thomas A. Ryan &
Associates Aerospace Limited (Ireland) from Alitalia (Italy) with
a leaseback to Alitalia for eight years.
• Purchased one B737-400 aircraft on behalf of Eheim Flugzeug
GmbH & Co. KG Vermietung (Germany) from GE Capital Aviation
Services ("GECAS") (USA) with a lease attached to Aer
Lingus (Ireland).
• Sub-leased two A321-200 aircraft on behalf of BWIA (Trinidad)
to Air Alfa (Turkey).
• Sold one MD82 aircraft to Air Albatros (Croatia), one
MD82 airframe to Double O Aviation (USA), two JT8D-217A engines
to AAR (USA) and one JT8D-217A engine to Itali Airlines (Italy).
• Sold one DHC8-311 aircraft, one PW123 engine and a spare
parts package on behalf of Contact Air (Germany) to AGES (USA)
for lease to Aires (Colombia).
• Advised ALM (Netherlands Antilles) on the acquisition
of two DHC8-311 aircraft from GECAS.
Purchased two used DHC8-102 aircraft on behalf of Cirrus Airlines
(Germany) from Bombardier (Canada).
• Sold four BAe748-2B aircraft and spare parts inventory
on behalf of Liat (Antigua) to Holter Leasing (Canada).
• Purchased one Challenger 604 corporate aircraft and one
Bell 430 corporate helicopter on behalf of Starair (Ireland) Limited.
Gerry
is a graduate of Pace University in New York where he obtained a
Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) with distinction
(honours) in 1985. He was also awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration
(BBA) degree from Pace University in 1983 and a National Diploma
in Business Studies (NDBS) from the University of Limerick in 1981.
Gerry was Deputy Chairman of Ukraine International Airways in 1993.
Gerry is currently Chairman of Starair (Ireland) Limited which operates
an executive jet charter service, providing flights worldwide. Gerry
holds a number of other directorships with Irish aviation companies
including ADM Limited, Flire Limited and Thomas A Ryan & Associates
Aerospace Limited.
David Kavanagh
Administration Manager and Marketing Executive, David has a background
in logistics and inventory management with previous experience in
the aviation business. David has worked in various management positions
in industry over the last five years and holds an honours degree
in Public Administration. Having joined Power Aviation Services
recently, David is currently undertaking an MBA Program.
